“A blog (a contraction of the term “web log”) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (Art blog), photographs (photoblog), videos (Video blogging), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Microblogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.”
The above description was lifted from wikipedia, many thanks to them for the concise description, but we at Rainbow studios believe that the blog phenomena has a wide ranging use not limited to waffling on about yourself or a subject of your choosing.
We have built several customised blogs now and are continually looking at the various plug-ins and add-ons available to enable the ‘blog’ to be used as a business tool to get your name out there and provide a platform to promote your business.
There are examples of previous blog builds on our Portfolio Pages (currently being re-done as I wasnt happy with the design so please check back).
For an over view of just what can be achieved please visit Nowhere-At-All , its a blog all about blog add-ons and plug-ins , ones we find useful , ones that work and as time goes on im sure there will be a few rants about those that dont too ……..
Part of our job is to find the software that does and doesnt work, if we like an idea that a plug-in offers and its not functioning who knows the brainy ones might fix them too …
